E-MU TEAK
Design & Construction
The E-MU Teak is the Creative's most expensive reference closed-back headphone till date. The headphone's headband is crafted with metal which adapts and sits on user's head pretty comfortably. Egg-protein cushions are used on the earcups to ensure that the experience is as premium as its price point. Overall, the headphone feels plush and comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. I didn't have any wearing fatigue during long listeneing session or experiecned discomfort when wearing spectacles with the headphones on. The headphones also resist fingerprints smudges even though it has a laminated surface to the teak enclosure that is rather glossy.
Sound Quality
The 50mm neodymium drivers with ultra-thin bio-cellulose diaphragms certainly live up to its high price point. They produce a 'V-Shaped' sound signature that is immersive and enjoyable. This makes the headphones great for all genres of music ranging from soothing jazz to bass-heavy EDM tracks. Highs are bright and pure in details, while mids are clean and clear. Bass come off as boosted which gives off a nice thump in your ear without sounding boomy or muddy. Using an amplifer like the Creative SoundBlaster X7 is highly recommended as it will greatly improve the headphones volume and gain so that users can experience the richest details.
Connectivity & Portability
The headphone operates via a 7N Oxygen-Free copper cable wrapped in nylon braiding for the purest output. It is detachable from the headphones when needed.
