CREATIVE AURVANA GOLD

Design & Construction

The Creative Aurvana Gold is a top of the line premium Creative headphone that is meant for travellers. Designed with curved triangular earcups on both sides and wrapped in black gold coating, the Creative Aurvana Gold headphone is meant for those who have larger ears and face. Weighing 292g, this headphone is quite heavy when used for a long time. The left earcup does not have any controls but it bears the Creative logo, Aurvana Gold logo and the micro USB port for charging. A red LED will light up when it is left to charge. On the right earcup, we have the (From Top-Bottom): multi-function button, NFC, Vol- & Vol+ buttons. On the bottom, there is the (From Back To Front): Seek forward/backward buttons & ANC switch. Pairing via both NFC and bluetooth is simple and quick. A red LED will light up if ANC is turned on and the Blue LED lights up once in 3 seconds on the multi-function button. The multi -function button will enable you to pick up phone calls, play/pause, on/off and check for battery status by double tapping. There is also a 2.5mm analog input. The headphones has extremely thick memory foam cushions which is meant for providing a premium and less fatigue experience but based on long hours of usage, the memory foam cushions causes hot ears and listening fatigue. The headband is very tight and may cause much discomfort for those who wear spectacles or those with smaller face size. On the headband, there is also memory foam headrest which provides some comfort.

Sound Quality

The headphone drivers are premium. Expect richer audio when you turn on the Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) function which provides up to 85% of active noise canceling. Based on user experience, the noise cancelling is not very effective as small amounts of ambient noise are hearable if the volume is too low or there is no music playing. Headphone drivers of 40mm are large and great for music lover who would like to immerse themselves in music. Highs are not sharp in which you will feel discomfort, mids are okay and bass is strong. Bass lovers are recommended to get one, preferably for home use.

Connectivity & Portability

The headphone connects via a 2.5mm headphone jack to any 3.5mm audio jack for wired listening. ANC functions can be switched on even when the headphone is not connected to any bluetooth source. The battery life peaks at a high of 15 hours and the headphone has Bluetooth Ver 3.0 built in. The headphones stow flat and comes with a carry bag which helps to protect it from unwanted drops or scratches, a flat anti-tangle 2.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable, a micro USB cable for charging and a airplane adapter for travellers.
